Sintra (辛特拉) 除了秀麗的群山美景和建築雄偉的城堡、宮殿和別墅之外, 還有兩樣非常著名的甜點: Queijadas (芝士撻) 和 Travesseiros (杏仁糕點)。
In addition to its magnificent scenery and a collection of majestic architectures, Sintra has two very famous local specialties: Queijadas (~ cheesecake tarts) and Travesseiros (~ almond pastries).
Queijadas 是芝士撻, 其主要成分是: 糖、芝士、麵粉、椰絲、甜煉奶，牛油和蛋黃。 至於Travesseiros, 它 的名字來自它的外形 - 尤如一個“枕頭” ("Travesseiros" 解作 "枕頭")。 Travesseiros 是用酥皮, 內裡填入肉桂、蛋黃和杏仁奶油烘焗而成，上面再撒上白糖。
Queijadas de Sintra are cheesecake tarts. The main ingredients are sugar, cheese, flour, grated coconut, sweetened condensed milk, butter and egg yolks. While for Travesseiros, its name comes from its shape - similar to "pillows" ("Travesseiros" means "pillows" in English). A Travesseiro is made of puff pastry filled with egg yolks, cinnamon and almond cream, and sprinkled with sugar on top after being baked.
在辛特拉的鎮上有很多小食店都有售賣Queijadas and Travesseiros , 不過 Piriquita 是被公認為一定要去品嘗這兩款甜點的有名食店。坐落在歷史悠久的鎮中心心臟地帶的 Piriquita, 創立於1862年, 它共有兩家店, 都是位於 Rua Padarias 這小街上。 一間就正正在國立皇宮的對面，另一間則是往上再走不遠的小山坡上。 在這店的陽台上坐下來，一邊吃傳統的辛特拉甜點 Queijadas 和 travesseiros, 一邊 欣賞美麗的景色。 人生, 可以活得很寫意! :-)
Sintra’s Queijadas and Travesseiros are sold in many places throughout the town, but Piriquita is widely recognised as the best place for these two traditional sweets. Located right in the heart of the historic town centre, Piriquita has been doing business since 1862. They have two stores on the same little street called Rua Padarias - one which is just across the National Palace and the other one a little uphill with a terrace, where you can sit down, have the traditional Sintra sweets and enjoy the extraordinary landscpape. Life can be so enjoyable! :-)
